Neale Jones

Managing Director

Neale has extensive experience in New Zealand politics, including most recently as Chief of Staff to Labour Leader Jacinda Ardern and former leader Andrew Little. Neale has previously worked as Political Director and Communications Director in the Labour Leader’s Office.

In these roles, Neale has led work on political strategy and communications. He held a senior role in Labour’s successful 2017 election campaign and served on the negotiation team for Labour’s coalition talks with New Zealand First and the Greens.

Neale has previously worked in senior campaign and communication roles in New Zealand and the United Kingdom in the NGO sector and the trade union movement.

This gives Neale a deep knowledge of the political environment in New Zealand and a valuable insight into how to engage constructively with the Government.

Neale is based in New Zealand’s capital city, Wellington and affiliates to Ngāpuhi and Ngāti Apakura. He is a regular political commentator on Radio New Zealand, Newstalk ZB and TV3’s The Nation.

Hayden Munro

Public Relations Director

Hayden Munro has over a decade of experience in New Zealand politics and public relations across political campaigns, ministerial offices and corporate clients.

Most recently he was the Campaign Manager for Labour’s 2020 election campaign, which saw the best result for the party since 1938, re-electing Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and delivering the only majority government under MMP.

He has wide connections across the political spectrum, as well as throughout the New Zealand media. Hayden has worked with some of the country’s most competitive and complex industries and brings a clear understanding of the intersection of politics, media, government and business.

He can provide a full range of public relations services from media and reputation management, stakeholder relations, speechwriting, brand development and management, through to media training and crisis communications.

He previously worked as Press Secretary to a senior Labour minister, as well as senior communications advisor for the Leader of the Opposition. He was Campaign Manager and then principal advisor for the former mayor of Wellington. He has spent a decade working on various campaigns for corporate clients, NGOs, and the New Zealand Labour Party.

Clint Smith

Research Director

Clint has extensive experience in New Zealand’s political system, having worked for both the Labour and Green Parties in a series of research, policy, and communications roles, including serving as Senior Communications Strategist in Jacinda Ardern’s office in the lead up to the 2017 election. In these roles, he worked on the policy design and communications for many of the current Government’s key policies.

In Government, he served in the Labour Leader’s Office and in Minister Twyford’s Office – being part of implementing a string of high profile policies and working on the communications strategy for Budget 2018.

Clint’s experience gives him a deep knowledge of the Government’s policy programme and objectives. He combines that knowledge and research ability with strong strategy and communications skills.

Megan Jury

Research, Communications and Admin Assistant

Megan assists the team with research, communications and administration. She is a final year law student completing a LLB/BA conjoint majoring in Political Science.

Megan has a particular interest in New Zealand’s political and legal systems and how these interact with the private sphere.

She has previous experience working in a variety of research and communications roles, including for a major law firm.
